He Hasn't Been Sober For Days

It upsets me how even the most complex images, traits, actions and people can be compressed into a single layer. this is my second attempt at creating a vector.

Gross.

I am so sick of the Jonas brothers. There, I said it. I am a sixteen year old girl and I HATE them. They are not that talented, they are not original at all, they are even exceedingly unattractive. As I was saying about five minutes ago, they look like someone ran them over with a semi and then backed up to make sure the job was done. Anyways, that's all I had to say. :)

Westboro Baptist What?!

Well I was having a great conversation in computer class with Michael today; one about equality and human rights - stuff like that. Eventually Michael mentioned the "Westboro Baptist Church" they are a "religion" that thrives off of hate for the entire world. This hate stems from a fundamental hate for homosexual people. I, for one, think this is ridiculous. Sure, the bible refers to homosexuality as an "abomination" but God also gives people the right to choose their own paths. This church is so radical in their beliefs that I barely even know where to begin, I am so disgusted and fascinated by their ridiculous beliefs that I will probably make this into a sort of blogging series so that this post isn't too terribly long.

First off, this church thinks that God hates the world. Don't believe me? Check out "www.godhatestheworld.com" and you can discover how they think God feels about most nations, such as; Canada, The United States, France, Nigeria, South Africa, Germany, United Kingdon, Ireland, Russia, China, India, and so many others I can't even count, with every other nation coloured blue to indicate that a site is forthcoming.

They even have a page to explain why John 3:16 is false. If you don't know what that is, you can google it. I am so mind boggled at this strange religion, I don't know how anyone can believe these things. I can't believe that such a large group of educated people could be so ignorant, intolerant and just rude, overall. I mean, you can believe whatever you want about homosexuality, but when you start picketing at a gay man or woman's funeral you know you have deep rooted issues.

Anyways I am far too tired to be any good at presenting my arguments about why I disagree with this religion here, but I assure you, there will be more about this topic. I am VERY passionate about human's rights and this is so messed up I HAVE to take a closer look.

Guantanamo Bay.

Omar Kadhr was only fifteen years old when he was taken to the infamous detention center of Guantanamo Bay. He’s the only Canadian held there as a terrorist, and there has been some controversy over the last two years as to what he is. Should he be charged as a terrorist and possibly die? Or should he be regarded as a child soldier and simply be set free? There are multiple positions to take on this and I really don’t know what should be done about him – especially now that Obama is going through the motions of closing Guantanamo Bay Prison down. This creates an even larger issue – where will ALL of the prisoners go?

In this world where most people only want to know about the latest iPod or what Britney Spears will do next, there are few people below the age of twenty who will even have an opinion on the matter. I, for one, have no idea where these mostly innocent and displaced prisoners can go.

Did Obama do the right thing by closing the prison? I think he did but I am sure there is going to be a big issue with relocating the prisoners. The innocent will undoubtedly be bitter and resentful towards the U.S. who allowed their torture for so long and that opens up the possibility of a whole lot of radical action towards them

Over all, I am not well versed in this at all – I only see what’s on the news and sometimes I don’t get a chance to watch. This blog is my vow to stay better informed and try to blog about something significant at least once a week.

I guess this is all for now, I hope you enjoy, and feel free to suggest topics that would amuse you.
